The regular meeting of the board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman, Maynard Hoff on Monday, September 13, 2009 at 8 PM at the Town Hall.  All board members were present.  Also present; Vic Keller and several town residents.

The minutes of the August meeting were presented by Clerk Fall. Motion by Robert Nelson, second by Dale Degerman to approve.  Motion carried.

Treasurer Jodene Nelson presented a financial update.  Motion by Maynard Hoff, second by Dale Degerman to accept.  Motion carried.

Tim Leisz was present to ask the Board to consider approval of a liquor license.  He is interested in purchasing property in the Township, but has not secured any at this time.  He has approached property owners in the area of the ball field.  No decision has been reached.  Tim will be back at the next meeting to discuss this request further.

Vic discussed highway maintenance.  After consideration, the Board recognized that maintenance was needed for 7th St, from 10 ½ Ave N – 1 ½ miles including payment overlay and shouldering.  Motion by Nelson with a second by Degerman to contact Barron Co. Highway to do the work.  Motion carried.

Vic also presented concern for finishing the water line maintenance.  He is looking into the problem, as well as a holding tank.  Zoning office should be contacted for more information and permits if necessary.

Sand mining update was given by Mike Harvey.  He presented feedback from the committee which is looking at a “common sense” town ordinance, limiting number of loads, hours of operation, depth of drilling, etc.  He is getting cost estimates from attorneys to do such ordinance.  No responses at this time.

Clerk Fall gave update on the website.  It is up and running.  More information will be added as we go forward.

No requests to speak in Public Comment.

Bills were presented and reviewed.  Motion by Degerman, second by Hoff to approve for payment.  Motion carried.

Next meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 8 PM.
