The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called order by Chairman, Maynard Hoff on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 6:00 PM with all board members present.
Minutes of the previous meeting were presented by Clerk Fall. Discussion followed. Motion to approve the minutes as presented was made by Chuck Richards second by Brad Wolf. Motion carried
Treasurer Nelson presented the financial update. She noted a current balance in the general checking account of $192,823.68 as of August 31, 2024. CD totals are: 2 CDs at $250,000 + interest, CD at $263,881.57. She also noted that she received building permit from Doyle Wiebe. Motion to accept the report as presented by Brad Wolf, second by Chuck Richards. Motion carried.
Phil Hoff gave a highway update, noting road maintenance/mowing. Eric Larson was present to ask the Town Board to consider allowing the Prairie Farm Baseball program to use the Town of Arland ballfield. He proposed to do the labor ,along with volunteers, in restoring the field. Discussion followed on who would be responsible for removing weeds, spraying, dragging field, applying lime. Chuck Richards offered to help in securing some of the needed materials and oversee the project. Motion to approve the request was made by Maynard Hoff, second by Chuck Richards. Motion carried.
Bills were presented for review. Discussion followed. Motion to approve all for payment was made by Brad Wolf, second by Maynard Hoff. Motion carried.
