The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman, Maynard Hoff.  Oaths of office were given by all board members:  Maynard Hoff – Chairman, Chuck Richards – 1st Supervisor, Brad Wolf – 2nd Supervisor, Jodene Nelson – Treasurer, and Pamela Fall – Clerk.

Clerk Fall presented the minutes from the March 11, 2021 meeting.  Motion was made but Brad Wolf, second by Chuck Richards to approve.  Motion carried.  Treasurer Nelson, presented a financial update.  She noted a general checking balance of $231,145.86, with two CDs totaling approximately $560,000.  Motion was made by Brad Wolf, second by Chuck Richards to accept.  Motion carried.

Phil Hoff gave a brief highway maintenance update.  He discussed road bans currently.  He also noted that he would be taking vacation beginning last week of May into the 1st week of June.  Phil will review the proposed road work plan at the Annual Meeting later in evening.

The Rhodes driveway matter was discussed.  The current request to extend 8th Street to allow for subdivision of the property per requirement from the Barron County Zoning Dept.  This segment of 8th St, is currently being maintained by the Town of Arland and is currently built to town standards.  This approval would extend the road an additional 66 ft, south of the south line of the Mininger property.  This would allow the Rhodes property to be subdivided into 3 lots and this road would be eligible for state highway aid calculation.  Discussion followed.  Motion to approve this request was made by Brad Wolf, second by Chuck Richards.  Motion carried.

The Delmar Ringer request for subdivision was presented to the board.  Discussion followed.  Motion was made to approve for signature by the Chairman by Brad Wolf, second by Chuck Richards.  Motion carried.

Clerk Fall presented the assessment letter from the Dallas Ambulance.  The 2021 assessment stayed at 908.00, but noted that the amount would increase to $1000 for 2022.  There will not be annual meeting.

No public comment.

Fire Board meeting was announced to be held on April 22nd.

Board was informed on the truck incident, which involved both the Dodge Town Truck and Phil Hoff’s personal vehicle.  The claim was reviewed by the adjuster and board discussed the need to repair the town truck.  Phil’s truck was repaired by his own payment. Maynard will investigate the process to return the claim check.  This may need discussion with our agent as to future insurance coverage.  Clerk will hold the check from Rural Mutual temporarily.

Bills were presented for review.  Motion was made to approve all for payment by Maynard Hoff, second by Brad Wolf.  Motion carried.

Clerk reminded the board of the upcoming Board of Review/Open Book dates;   Open Book – Tuesday, May 11th 3-5 PM, Board of Review – Wednesday, May 19th 6-8 PM.

Next regular meeting was set for Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 6:30 PM.

Motion to adjourn was made by Maynard Hoff, second by Chuck Richards.  Motion carried.
