The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman Maynard Hoff, with all board members present along with three residents and guests. The minutes of the August meeting were presented by Clerk Fall, with a motion to approve by Brad Wolf and a second by Robert Nelson, Motion carried. Treasurer Jodene Nelson presented the financial update, with a motion to accept by Wolf, second by Hoff. Motion carried.
Phil Hoff gave the highway maintenance report, updating on planned work on the Dority Creek bridge. Lengthy discussion followed regarding a new mower tractor. No action was taken and trade-in details may be provided at the next regular meeting.
Public comment: Lee Fochs, the Town of Arland Building Inspector, was present to discuss some issues he has encountered recently on inspection misunderstanding. He answered questions on the current ordinances that the Town of Arland has in place. He asked for support from the board as he makes visits to potential building sites. Good discussion followed.
Sharon Masek from Superior Silica Sands was present to discuss current operations at the mining sites and dry plant.
Bills were presented for consideration. Motion to approve all for payment by Nelson, second by Wolf. Motion carried.
Nest meeting is scheduled for October 12, 2015 at 8 PM.
