The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman, Maynard Hoff on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 5:40 PM with all board members present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were presented by Clerk Fall. Motion to approve as presented was made by Chuck Richards, second by Brad Wolf. Motion carried.
Treasurer, Jodene Nelson, presented a financial update. She noted a current balance in the general checking account of $153,953.96. The Town of Arland now holds four (4) CDs at the Sterling Bank – $152,595.35 – due May/2024, $50,000. – due June//2024, $250,000. – due August//2024 and $250,000. – due October/2024. She also noted that tax collection has been going well. Motion was made by Brad Wolf, second by Chuck Richards to accept the report as presented. Motion carried.
Phil gave a highway report. He presented a quote from Monroe Equip for a broom to be mounted on the front of the truck. Discussion followed. Motion was made to approve the purchase of the boom attachment of $14,577.00, by Brad Wolf, second by Maynard Hoff. Motion carried. Phil also presented a bid from McCoy for a Henke folding V-Plow, at a bid of $32,800. No decision was made on that purchase.

Clerk Fall presented the names of Election Workers for the Town of Arland as follows: Deb Scribner, Sharon Bringman, Sandy Bruder, Stephanie Roberts and Dave Fall. Motion to approve made by Chuck Richards, second by Maynard Hoff. Motion carried.
Bills were presented for consideration. Discussion followed. Motion made by Brad Wolf second by Chuck Richards to approve all for payment. Motion carried.
Next meeting was set for Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 5:30 PM.
Employment review for Phil Hoff was brought forward. Phil allowed discussion in Open Session. Board reviewed his current benefits and salary. Motion by Chuck Richards was made to approve a new hourly rate of $25./hr beginning January 1, 2024 and effective through December 31, 2024. Motion was seconded by Brad Wolf. Motion carried. No other adjustments were made to his contract.
