The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman, Maynard Hoff at 7:00 PM on August 9, 2018. All board members ere present.
Minutes of the previous meeting were presented by Clerk Fall, followed by a motion to approve by Robert Nelson, second by Brad Wolf. Motion carried. Jodene Nelson, Treasurer, gave the financial update. Motion to accept by Brad Wolf, second by Robert Nelson. Motion carried. Report shows a general checking balance of $296,551.19, along with approximately $600,000 in CDs.
Highway update was given by Phil Hoff; He noted that the blacktopping has been completed on 11th St, most of the culverts are in place. He is working on quotes for projects on 7th Ave near Hay River Hill (Nelson drive way), as well as a quote for work on 6 1/2 St. More information will be presented at the next meeting.
Sharon Masek from Superior Silica Sands presented an update on the mining operation and road work being done near the plants. They continue to work on the issues regarding hauling an train availability.

Bills were presented for review. Motion to approve all for payment by Brad Wolf, second by Maynard Hoff. Motion carried.
Next meeting was set for September 6, 2018 at 7:00 PM.
