The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman, Maynard Hoff, on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 7:00 PM with all board members present.

Clerk Fall presented the minutes of the previous meeting. Discussion followed. Motion to approve was made by Brad Wolf, second by Chuck Richards. Motion carried.

Treasurer Nelson presented the financial update. She noted a current working account balance of $548,280.52. Motion to accept her report was made by Chuck Richards, with a second by Brad Wolf. Motion carried. Board also considered investment options from Sterling Bank of Barron and Westconsin Credit Union also of Barron. After discussion, motion was made by Brad Wolf to move. total of $400,000.00 from the general checking account into two CDs as follows both at Sterling Bank: (1) $250,000.00 int 15 month CD with a rate of 4.33% – (2) $150,000.00 into 6 month CD with a rate of 3.46%. Motion was seconded by Maynard Hoff. Motion carried.

Phil Hoff gave a highway update. He resented a bid from Fahrner for deck work on 2 bridge sites totaling $25,811. Discussion followed. Motion was made by Chuck Richards, second by Brad Wolf to accept the bid as presented. Motion carried.

Clerk Fall presented the updated Operations Agreement proposed from Blue Diamond Proponents, LLC for mining on the FLS property. Discussion followed. Board offered possible amendment to the agreement for increased rate to the royalty that would be paid to the Town of Arland. Clerk will notify the Blue Diamond owners and also Town Attorney, Paul Mahler. No other action was taken on the matter

Phil gave a brief report on Family House

Bills were presented for review. Discussion followed. Motion to pay all bills as presented was made by Brad Wolf, second by Chuck Richards. Motion carried.

Next meeting date was set for Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 7:00 PM. Clerk Fall will contact the Tamarack Asseing foe an update on when BOR (Board of Review) might be scheduled.
