The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman, Maynard Hoff, with all board members present. Financial audit was conducted by members of the board. Motion to approve the financial audit was made by Brad Wolf, second by Robert Nelson. Motion carried.
Minutes of the previous meeting were presented by Clerk Fall. Motion to approve was made by Robert Nelson, second by Brad Wolf. Motion carried. Treasurer, Jodene Nelson presented the financial report. She noted a current balance in the general fund of $202,651.00. She also reported on the 2 CDs that the Town of Arland holds at the Sterling Bank in Barron – $250,000 – 6 month maturity and $313,000 – 12 month maturity. Motion to accept her report was made by Robert Nelson, second by Brad Wolf. Motion carried.
Phil Hoff reported on highway maintenance. He also discussed bids he has gotten for the tinning on the town shop. Jeff Shatley from Cheek – Right Choice. He gave board some color options, with an estimate of $10,500 for the work. Phil will be looking for additional bids to present to the board at future meetings.
Board discussed the rising costs for garbage removal. Currently, the Town of Arland has a contract with Republic Services. Robert Nelson proposed the Town consider going with carrier – ISR. He presented costs with their service. Discussion followed. Motion was made by Nelson to discontinue the service with Republic and change to ISR, second was made by Brad Wolf, motion carried. Clerk is to notify the carriers of the changes.
Bills were presented for review. Motion was made by Brad Wolf, second by Maynard Hoff to pay all bills as presented. Motion carried.
Next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 6:30 PM, followed by the Annual Meeting at 7:00 PM.
Clerk reminded those board members that were registered with the WTA for annual meetings – all virtual. There will be recordings of the conference for future viewing.
