The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman, Maynard Hoff, with all board members present The minutes of the December 2017 meeting were presented by Clerk Fall, followed by a motion to approve by Brad Wolf, second by Maynard Hoff. Motion carried. Treasurer, Jodene Nelson gave the financial update. She reported on property tax collection. She also updated the board on the total machinery fund investments, currently at $602,394.00. Motion to accept her report was made by Brad Wolf, second by Robert Nelson. Motion carried.
Phil Hoff reported on highway maintenance. He also introduced representative from IDSO. Discussion followed on the purchase of an electric power washer. Motion followed by Brad Wolf to authorize $5,100.00 for the purchase of a power washer through IDSO, second by Robert Nelson. Motion carried. Board is considering purchase of a new welder. More information will be presented at the next meeting.
Bills were presented for consideration. Motion to approve all for payment by Robert Nelson, second by Maynard Hoff. Motion carried.
Sharon Masek gave an update from Superior Silica Sands.
No public comment was given.
Phil Hoff’s employment contract was presented for review. Discussion followed. Motion was made by Robert Nelson to approve the new contract with an increase to $19.50/hr and all other benefits remaining the same. Second by Brad Wolf. Motion carried.
Next meeting was set for Monday, February 12, 2018 at 7:00 PM.
