1705-May08,2017

The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman, Maynard Hoff.  All board members were present.  Clerk Fall presented the minutes of the previous meeting.  A motion was made by Robert Nelson, second by Brad Wolf to approve.  Motion carried.  Treasurer, Jodene Nelson presented the financial update.  Motion was made by Robert Nelson to accept the report, second by Brad Wolf.  Motion carried.

Highway maintenance update was given by Phil Hoff.  Specific discussion was given to repairs and maintenance on 7th Ave near Julian Nelson driveway.  Additional crack/scrub sealing was also discussed.  Motion was made to approve the additional project with Fahrner by Brad Wolf, second by Robert Nelson.  Motion carried.

Superior Siliva report was given, with information on the 7 1/2 St project.  More information will be brought to the June meeting.   Sharon discussed highway maintenance.  The Amendment to the Developers Agreement was presented.  This amendment to change hours of operation was reviewed by our legal counsel, Terry Dunst.  A motion to approve the amendment was made by Brad Wolf, second by Robert Nelson  Motion carried.  Signatures will be notarized.  Sharon also shared the update on their building project for a new office in Barron.  Sharon discussed water testing plans.

Public comment;  Steph Roberts shared some concerns with the board and Superior Silica regarding water discoloration at her home. She will have her water tested.

Next meeting date is June 12th at 7:30 PM.

Clerk Fall read a letter of retirement/resignation from Building Inspector, Jim Heldstab.  He will stay on until end of August.  Board will consider applications or recommendations for a replacement at the next board meeting.

Reminder that the Town of Arland Board of Review will be held on Tuesday, May 9th – Open Book 5:00 – 7:00.  BOR  7:00 – 9:00 PM.

Bills were presented for payment.  Motion by Robert Nelson and second by Brad Wolf to approve all for payment.  Motion carried.
