The Board of the Town of Arland met in regular session on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 7:30 PM. All board members were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were presented by Clerk Fall. Motion made by Robert Nelson to approve, second by Brad Wolf. Motion carried. Treasurer Jodene Nelson presented the financial update. Motion to accept the report by Wolf, second by Nelson. Motion carried.
Vince Wohlk, Almena Fire Chief presented his Oath of Office for such position. The Oath was signed an notarized by the Clerk.
The Building Inspector position for the Town of Arland was discussed. The recent death of Lee Fochs, has given the Town an vacancy to that position. Jim Heldstab was present to offer his interest in filling the position for the Town of Arland. Jim currently serves several municipalities around our township. He gave a personal background and experience report. Board has had another person interested in the position of Building Inspector. Craig Moriak has asked to address the board and will be present at the next regular meeting. Board agreed to wait and make any decision on contracting with a new Building Inspector until after the August meeting discussion with Mr. Moriak. Currently, all inspections will be conducted by Joe Atwood, who agreed to handle the work temporarily.
Phil Hoff gave a brief update on highway maintenance.
Sharon Masek from Superior Silica Sands gave her report and update on current activities at the mines.

Vince Wohlk presented a quote of $3,177.00 for air conditioning for the Town Hall. Board agreed to get another quote for comparison.
Discussion by board on prepay fuel. Agreed to purchase 3000 gals.
Bills were presented for payment. Discussion followed. Motion to approve all for payment by Wolf, second by Hoff. Motion carried.
Motion to adjourn by Wolf, second by Nelson. Motion carried.
