The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman, Maynard Hoff, with all board members present.  Clerk Fall presented the minutes of the previous meeting.  Motion made by Robert Nelson, second by Brad Wolf to approve as presented.  Motion carried. Jodene Nelson, Treasurer, gave the financial update.  Motion was made by Wolf, second by Nelson to accept report.  Motion carried.  Jodene noted our current general fund balance is $281,927.41.  Additional assets include; 2 CDs totaling $500,000, plus interest.  Both are due on 6/28/2017.

Blacktopping bids were presented by Barron Co Highway – Mark Servi, Hwy Commissioner and by Representative from Monarch Paving.  Board members opened and reviewed the two separate bids.  Specifics were read and compared to determine the actual proposals and costs.  Discussion followed.  Motion was made by Robert Nelson, second by Brad Wolf to award Bid #1 to Barron County.  Bid #2 was awarded to Monarch Paving.  Motion carried.  Bid details are kept on file at the Town Shop and in the Clerks’ file.

Bills were presented for payment.  Motion to approve all for payment by Nelson, second by Wolf.  Motion carried.

Board of Review and Open Book have been set by the Assessor to be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017.  Open Book will be held from 5 – 7:00 PM, followed by the BOR from  – 7 – 9:00 PM.

No public comment.  No correspondence.
