The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was held on April 16, 2013 at 8 PM at the town hall. The first order of business was for the Clerk to administer oaths of office for the newly elected town officials: Maynard Hoff as Chairman, Robert Nelson and Brad Wolf as Supervisors, Jodene Nelson as Treasurer and Pam Fall as Clerk. After the signing the official documents, Chairman Hoff called the regular meeting to order. Minutes of the previous meeting were presented by Clerk Fall. Motion to approve by Nelson/Degerman. Motion approved. Treasurer Jodene Nelson gave a financial update. Motion to accept by Nelson/Hoff. Motion carried.
A special thank you and show of appreciation was given to Dale Degerman for the many years of service to the Town of Arland. Jason gave a highway maintenance and equipment update. He noted that he has been working on securing several bids for a new truck and will present these to the Board for consideration. Discussion followed, with the board agreeing that a special meeting would be needed to review these bids before any decision could be made.
Matt Torgerson from the Midwest Frac mining site and Clyde Baier from Superior Silica Sands gave updates on the work being done at the wet plants here in Town of Arland. Both discussed road issues and poor weather conditions. They will continue to update at the future meetings of this board.
Bills were presented. After review and consideration, a motion was made by Nelson/Hoff to approve for payment. Motion carried.
Next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 8 PM.
