The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 6:30 PM by Chairman Maynard Hoff, with all board members present.
Minutes of the previous meeting were presented by Clerk Fall, followed by a motion to approve by Brad Wolf, second by Robert Nelson. Motion carried.
Treasurer, Jodene Nelson presented the financial update. Motion was made by Robert Nelson, second by Brad Wolf to accept. Motion carried.
Board discussed investing in a Machinery Fund CD prior to the end of the year. Board authorized Clerk Fall and Treasurer Nelson to invest up to $250,000. into a 6 month CD. Discussion also followed regarding the renewal of our current CD – due on January 7, 2021, authorizing Treasurer Nelson to renew for another 1-year term;. Current balance is $310,118;00.
Phil gave an update on the highway maintenance. He also discussed equipment recommendations. Phil provided quotes from Serwe on a used muncher head for our mower. Motion was made by Brad Wolf, second by Robert Nelson to purchase the used muncher head with an approximate cost of $16,000. Motion carried.

Bills were presented for review and payment. discussion followed, Motion to approve all for payment was made by Brad Wolf, second by Maynard Hoff. Motion carried.
Next meeting was scheduled for Thursday, January 14, 2021. This will also be the Caucus date. Caucus will be held at 6:30 PM followed by the regular meeting.
We will consider the employment contract for Phil Hoff at the January 2021 regular meeting.
