The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman Maynard Hoff on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 8 PM. All members were present, along with Jason Bruder and seven residents. Vicky Ondell was present to discuss the Namekagon Transit bus schedule, representing the Office on Aging. She gave out information and explained the program. She left brochures with the board.
Minutes of the previous meeting were presented by Clerk Fall. Motion to approve (Nelson / Hoff). Carried. Treasurer Jodene Nelson gave a financial update. Motion to accept (Degerman / Nelson). Carried.
Jason discussed various items during a highway maintenance update. He is also considering various insurance policies and will decide on one by the next meeting. Jason also discussed the amount of sanding and snow removal he has been doing. Because of snowfall and ice issues, he has been working many hours of overtime. He also discussed the charges for widening driveways or sanding for residents. Fees were set at $20 for widening driveways with sanding at $15 per time.
Maynard will complete the TRIP project paperwork. Clerk will provide the necessary documents for this and will meet with the co-commissioner.
Reminder to board members of the WTA district meeting on February 12th at Cumberland. All three members are planning to attend.
Bills were reviewed. Motion to pay as presented (Dgerman / Nelson). Approved.
Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 10th at 8 PM.
Reminder of primary on Tuesday, February 15th.
