The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman Maynard Hoff on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 8 PM. All board members were present as well as fifteen other residents. The minutes of the previous meeting were presented by Clerk Fall with a motion by Robert Nelson, second by Brad Wolf to approve. Motion carried. The financial report was given by Treasurer Jodene Nelson with a motion by Nelson, second by Wolf to accept. Motion carried.
Sharon Masek from Superior Silica Sands gave a power point presentation on the mining operations in the Town of Arland. She pointed out past activity, reclamation progress, and plans for future expansion with a potential dry plant located at 6th St. and 8th Ave. She presented statistics on financial impact to the township and to the county. Jim Walker was also present to give additional information and answer questions. Matt Torgerson from Midwest Frac was present to give an update on his operation and plans for this year’s mining activities and road maintenance.

Jason Bruder gave a highway and equipment maintenance update. Jason has tendered his resignation effective April 14, 2014. His letter was read to all in attendance. Board will consider replacement strategy and advertisement by the next meeting. Motion was made by Hoff to accept the resignation, second by Nelson. Motion carried.
Bills were reviewed. Motion to pay as presented by Nelson, second by Wolf. Motion carried.
Next meeting will be May 12th, at 8:00 PM.
