The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman Maynard Hoff on Thursday, May 06, 2010 at 8:00 PM.  All board members were present.

Clerk Fall presented the minutes of the April meeting.  Correction was made regarding clarification of the bid and engineer’s estimate.  Motion to approve the ammended minutes by Nelson, second by Degerman.  Motion carried.  Treasurer Nelson presented a financial update.  Motion to accept by Hoff, second by Nelson.  Motion carried.

Steve from Monarch Paving was present to review the project that was awarded to Monarch.  He noted that the TRIP project would not allow use of town material nor labor.  He also presented the adjusted bid at $41,044.25.  Motion to accept the adjusted bid by Robert Nelson, second by Dale Degerman.  Motion carried.

Vic Keller reviewed current status of gravel and consideration of more sand lifting this year and also next year.  A road plan for this will be needed.  He also notified the board that he is planning to retire later this fall.  He will be meeting with Maynard to formalize this plan and consideration for any part time work needed.  A job description and wage & benefit plan will be needed to go forward with the employment opportunity.

Paul Anderson was present to get information on widening his driveway.  Board recommended that he contact Wirth Brothers or other private construction company.

Maynard presented three bids from Dirks Heating for air exchangers – ranging from $2,186.00 to $3,390.00.  Suggestion was made to get bids from other vendors for next meeting.

Bob Irwin was contacted during the meeting to set the Board of Review.  He noted that the re-evaluation would not be completed until July.  Board set the BOR for July 29th.  More information will be presented at the next meeting and with proper notification.  Clerk will advertise as required by statutes and note the adjournment to a later date.

Bills were presented for payment.  Motion by Maynard and second by Dale to approve.  Motion carried.

Motion by Dale to adjourn, second by Robert.  Motion carried.
