The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman Maynard Hoff on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 7:00 PM. All board members were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were presented by Clerk Fall. Motion to approve by Robert Nelson, second by Brad Wolf. Motion carried. Treasurer’s report was given by Jodene Nelson. Motion to approve by Wolf, second by Hoff. Motion carried. Current balance in the general account is $142,311.92, CD balance is $200,000.00 – with maturity dates of 06-30-16. Jodene also noted that building permits that were sent out, had been returned with payment as well as outstanding gravel service payment.
Highway update was given by Phil Hoff. He also noted that we are expecting the new tractor to be delivered by March. Sharon Masek gave the monthly update from Superior Silica Sands. She noted that the sand has been moving, but sales are slow. The dry plant remains closed at Arland.
Board held discussion on the Building Inspector Ordinance options. More questions were heard, prompting the board to seek further clarification from our legal advisor. Clerk will contact Mr. Dunst for his support. Further consideration will be given at the next meeting. The bid for flooring from Birch Avenue Flooring was presented. Discussion followed. Motion to approve the bid at $11,750.00 by Wolf, second by Nelson. Motion carried.
Bills were presented for consideration. Motion by Wolf, second by Nelson to pay all. Motion carried. Next meeting was set for Monday, February 8, 2016 at 7 PM. Motion and second to adjourn. Motion carried.
