The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman Maynard Hoff at 8 PM on April 12, 2011. Meeting was held at the Maynard Hoff maple syrup shed. All board members were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were presented. Motion to approve by Degerman/Nelson. Motion carried. Treasurer Jodene Nelson gave a financial update. Motion to accept report by Hoff/Degerman. Motion carried.
Lee Fochs, candidate for building inspector, was present. He gave information on his experience and background for this position. Board asked questions. Maynard noted that he had been contacted by another individual for the position. We will table the decision until the next meeting to have an opportunity to meet with any other interested persons for the building inspector position.
Jason Bruder reviewed the highway maintenance. He discussed replacement of signs due to vandalism. Road plan for 2011 was discussed. This will be continued at the next meeting. No action taken.
Mitch Stauner was present to discuss the potential repairs to the road he currently lives on. He addressed concerns about 8th street and 10th avenue. Board discussed the situation. Consideration was given to sand lift. This may be a part of the 2011 road plan discussion.
Bills were reviewed. Motion to pay as presented by Nelson/Degerman. Motion carried.
Next meeting will be Tuesday, May 10th, 2011. Meeting will be held at the town hall.
