The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman, Maynard Hoff at 7:00 PM on Tuesday May 13, 2025 with all board members present.
Clerk Fall presented the minutes of the previous meeting. Motion to approve made by Brad Wolf, second by Chuck Richards. Motion carried.
Treasurer Nelson presented a financial update. She noted the balance in the general checking account as of April 30, 2025 was $210,882.34. She also gave an overview of the Town’s CDs. Approximate balance of CDs is $850,000. Two CDs will mature in June and will need to be renewed as necessary. Motion to accept the report was made by Chuck Richards, second by Maynard Hoff. Motion carried.
Phil Hoff presented bids from Baron County (Highway) on projects including paving and chipo sealing. Estimate for paving approx. 1.75 miles including shoulders and shaping at $214,100. Chip sealing est is $38,000. Discussion followed. Motion to approve/accept both bids was made by Brad Wolf, second by Chuck Richards. Motion carried. Phil also reported work update on the ball field bathroom.
Board discussed consideration of sub-division ordinance. Barron County Land Services staff member Rhonda Sukys was present to lead discussion on this process. She gave an overview of how Barron County handles land use requests, whether the municipality is Zoned on Non-Zoned. Discussion followed. Board will continue to discuss. No action was taken.
No update available on the request for purchasing one of the Town of Arland liquor licenses.
Bills were presented for review. Motion to approve all for payment was made by Brad Wolf, second by Chuck Richards. Motion carried.
