The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman Maynard Hoff.  All board memners were present along with patrol operator Jason Bruder and several residents.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read by Clerk Fall.  Motion to approve as ammended by Nelson/Hoff.  Motion carried.  Treasurer Jodene Nelson presented a financial update.  Motion to accept by Nelson/Degerman.  Motion carried.

Jodene provided a copy of the letter that will go into the tax statements in December.  It was suggested to add info on voter identification requirements, on building inspector, and other reminders. 

Jason gave an update on highway maintenance and repairs to equipment, including tires for the truck.

Robert gave an update on the fire board meeting.  He presented the dues, which were adjusted.

Maynard gave info on sand mining.  Individuals have expressed an interest in working on an ordinance.  More discussion at next meeting.

No public comment.

Bills were presented for review and payment.  Motion to approve by Nelson/Hoff.  Motion carried.

Clerk gave information regarding the opportunity to exchange voting equipment.  Action will be required at the next meeting.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, December 8, 2011.

MINUTES FOR BUDGET HEARING

Chairman Maynard Hoff called the hearing to order.

Clerk led the discussion and review of the proposed budget.  The only change made was to the fire dues, which were increased from $16,592 last year to $18,788.  Discussion followed.

Motion and second to adjourn the budget hearing.  Motion carried.

MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING

The special meeting of the Town of Arland to set the proposed 2011 Tax Levy was called to order.

Motion by Maynard Hoff, second by Dale Degerman to set the 2011 Levy (collected in 2012) at $118,223.00.  Motion carried.

Motion to adjourn by Nelson/Degerman.  Motion carried.
