2209-Sept13,2022

The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Supervisor, Chuck Richards at 6:30 PM.

Clerk Fall presented the minutes of the previous meeting.  Discussion followed.  Motion to approve was made by Brad Wolf, second by Chuck Richards.  Motion carried.

Treasurer, Jodene Nelson gave a financial update.  She noted a current general checking account balance of $397,490.77, which includes the August tax settlement of $77,244.71.  She also noted the CDs totaling approximately $513,600 and ARPA balance of $79,380.40.  Motion to accept report was made by Brad Wolf, second by Chuck Richards.  Motion carried.

Phil Hoff gave a highway report, noting bridge repairs will begin soon.  He also discussed the mowing.

Board discussed the reclamation process on 7th St. (Church Road Mine) Chuck noted an upcoming meeting was planned with reps from Barron Co, excavating and SSS people  Board is concerned about lack of communication with the Arland Town Board.  Chuc expressed an interest in attending the meeting, along with Maynard and Phil.  More information will be presented at the next meeting.

The new Assessor contract was presented. This will be completed at the next meeting for approval and signatures.

Autumn Hoff gave an update on the Family House.  Several concerns are still preventing the facility from opening.  They are waiting on bids and approval of the new well.  They do not expect to open for guests until Fall of 2023.  We will continue to stay up to date on the progress.

Concerns were discussed regarding the apparent illness of our building inspector, Scott Schieffelbien.  Cler will reach out to him to find out if he will be assuming his work full time.

Board reviewed the bills presented. Discussion followed.  Motion to approve all for payment was made by Brad Wolf, second by Chuck Richards.  Motion carried.

Next meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 6:30 PM.
