The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman, Maynard Hoff on October 10, 2016 at 7:30 PM. All board members were present except Brad Wolf. Minutes of the previous meeting were presented by Clerk Fall, followed by a motion to approve as presented by Robert Nelson, second by Maynard Hoff. Motion carried. Treasurer’s report was given by Jodene Nelson, followed by a motion to accept as presented by Hoff, second by Nelson. Motion carried. Jodene noted a current general fund balance of $564,482.43.
Superior Silica Sands representative, Sharon Masek gave an update on the work being currently done at the mine sites and the proposed plans for the next months.
Highway maintenance report was given by Phil Hoff, noting the delivery of the new tractor and mower equipment. He also discussed the road maintenance being done. Roads are blacktopped as planned but are waiting on shouldering work to be completed.
Bills were presented for payment. Discussion followed. Motion was made to approve all for payment by Hoff, second by Nelson. Motion carried.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 14th at 7:30. The Budget hearing and Special Meeting to set the levy will follow the regular meeting.
Clerk fall gave an election update.
