The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman, Maynard Hoff on September 12, 2016 at 7:30 PM. All board members were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were presented by Clerk Fall, followed by a motion to approve by Robert Nelson, second by Brad Wolf. Motion carried. Treasurer’s update was given, noting a balance of $593,663.33. Jodene discussed the current amounts received from Superior Silica Sands. Motion was made to accept the treasurer’s update by Brad Wolf and second by Robert Nelson. Motion carried.
Phil Hoff gave the highway maintenance update, noting that the County had completed 7th Ave and was waiting to complete 7th St and 10 1/2 Ave. he confirmed that we should be receiving the tractor and mower soon.
Building Inspector, Jim Heldstab was present to discuss his new contract with Town of Arland. The contract was reviewed and a motion was made by Nelson, second by Wolf to approve such signing. Motion carried. Jim will meet with the Board periodically to give any updates.
Updates on completed business: Air conditioning installation was completed. Office furniture is now in place in office.
Superior Silica Sands update was given by Clyde.
No public comment was given.
The bills were presented for consideration. After discussion, motion was made to approve all for payment by Nelson, second by Wolf. Motion carried.
Next meeting date was set for Monday, October 10th at 7:30 PM.
