The regular meeting of the Board of the Town of Arland was called to order by Chairman, Maynard Hoff on July 9, 2015 at 8 PM with all board members present as well as 4 other residents. Minutes of the previous meeting were presented by Clerk Fall, followed by a motion to approve by Nelson and second by Wolf. Motion carried. Treasurer, Jodene Nelson gave the financial update followed by a motion to accept by Hoff and second by Wolf, Motion carried. She noted that the 2 CDs at the Sterling Bank have been redeemed and deposited into the general checking account. She also noted that 2 individuals have not paid their personal property taxes; Ron Olson-63.42 and Tim Vilz-282.91.
Phil Hoff gave the highway maintenance update on culverts and bridge work. It was reported that he was getting quotes for a mower tractor and will provide at the next meeting for consideration. He was very satisfied with the new lawn mower recently purchased by the Town.
Chase from Superior Silica Sands was present to give an update on the work being done at the wet and dry plants in our township. He also reported that there was approx. 350 people that attended the open house. He noted that more haul signs will be put up as well.
Clerk Fall gave an update on the Website. No public comment was given.
Bills were presented for consideration. Motion to approve all by Nelson, second by Wolf. Motion carried. Board agreed to purchase 3500 gals of prepaid fuel at 1.08 – $3,780.00.
Next meeting was scheduled for August 18, 2015 at 8 PM.
