The Board of the Town of Arland met in regular session on November 10, 2009 at 8 PM at the town hall. All board members were present; also present were Vic Keller and Mike Harvey.
Minutes of the previous meeting were presented. Motion to approve by Maynard, second by Dale. Motion carried. Treasurer’s report was presented. Motion to accept by Robert, second by Maynard. Motion carried.
Maynard gave a report on the Almena Fire Department meeting.
Highway maintenance update – Maynard explained the application process for TRIP funds. Estimated amount available for the Town of Arland is $18,000. This grant would be awarded after the work is completed and verification of payment is made. The application is due by November 20th. He will work with Vic to prepare a 2-5 yr. road plan which is required for the process. More information will be presented at the December meeting.
Maynard also presented a letter regarding building code effectiveness. No action was taken.
Tim Leisz was not present to prompt further discussion on the request for a liquor license. This matter will be tabled until we are contacred by Mr. Leisz.
Jodene discussed the information letter that she is composing as an insert with tax statements.
The matter of Comprehensive Planning was discussed briefly. We may consider having a representative come in to offer information. There are two open house presentations in Barron County in December – December 8th from 3 – 6 PM at the Barron County Government Center, and December 10th from 4 – 7 PM in Rice Lake, the location unavailable at this time.
Bills were reviewed for payment. Motion by Dale, second by Maynard to authorize payment of bills. Motion carried.
